Stop Calling It Exhaustion When It’s Depletion
Your intentions are pure. Caring for the world while you yourself are drowning. Nobody knows though because you keep showing up. And not just showing up, but still excelling. But you may see a gradual decline in how you care for yourself. Or how little energy you have to meet your own standards. You know that you are not operating as the highest level of yourself, but you also don’t have the capacity to fix it.
This was my reality and I’m sure you may be able to relate now or at some point in your life. It was never about a lack of discipline, but a lack of support. Because while our feminine energy holds space for softness and beauty, it is also responsible for our vitality. It lives within a woman whose body is resourced and nourished enough to feel, to create, and to align with her flow.
So after some research, I turned to organs. To eat. More specifically, to have my freeze-dried organs in capsule form. Liver happens to be one of the most nutrient dense whole food sources we have, and it offered me a direct way to replenish critical vitamins and minerals that are often depleted by chronic stress and burnout. So this was less about bouncing back and more about finally giving my body what it needs to function efficiently.
the Slow burn of chronic stress
Stress manifests physiologically in the body, it’s not just in our minds. It drains the nervous system, depletes valuable minerals and vitamins, especially B vitamins, and pulls from your reserves until you are mentally and physical drained. This looks like waking up exhausted, no matter how long you have slept. Your skin is dull and lifeless. Emotional regulation is gone. As well as any motivation. And no amount of “pushing through” is going to bring it back.
The constant activation of the nervous system will eventually shift your physiology. Cortisol levels stay elevated, blood sugar levels become chaotic and unstable, and the nervous system stays in a state of vigilance. So naturally the body is going to start to reallocate its resources towards surviving. Taking precious energy away from repair and steady vitality. And this usually isn't sudden, it's a gradual slide into depletion.
beef liver?
I’mgoing to be very honest, eating liver is not something that was ever on my bingo card. But learning that liver is one of the most nutrient dense foods in existence, I needed to make this part of my wellness routine somehow. And beef liver capsules entered the chat.
Grass fed and pasture raised cows give us beef liver in its purest form, besides eating the liver itself, of course. The liver is freeze dried to preserve heat sensitive nutrients and then put into capsule form. Each serving gives us about 3 g of grass fed beef liver.
Let’s get into these benefits:
Restoring energy
Burnout and chronic stress often overlap with iron deficiency, low B12 levels as well as poor red blood cell function. Beef liver is rich in heme iron and B12, which are both essential for oxygen transport as well as energy production. Heme iron is two to five times more bioavailable than plant iron. So you may have less brain fog and improved endurance as well as mental clarity. And energy in this sense is less about feeling more awake and more about how efficiently your cells are producing and using your body’s energy currency.
Nervous system repair and stress resilience
Chronic stress depletes the nervous system, especially B vitamins. Vitamin B12 supports neurological function as well as mood regulation. Choline and B vitamins support brain signaling and stress adaptation. So this means better emotional regulation and less irritability. There are also key micro nutrients that help to replenish what the nervous system burns through during prolonged periods of stress and demand. These nutrients support the production of neurotransmitters, energy metabolism, and a steady type of regulation that will help the body move out of constant reactivity and into a more grounded state. This is beautiful because it helps us to rebuild capacity so that's future stress is met with resilience instead of exhaustion.
Skin hair and radiance
Beef liver is also rich in vitamin A, which supports skin renewal and a radiant glow. Zinc and B vitamins help to support hair growth and repair. So this gives us a brighter more even skin tone, stronger nails, and thicker, healthier hair. A word to the wise is that vitamin A is fat soluble, so it is possible that excess intake overtime can lead to harm so take in moderation and also monitor levels with labs while working with a healthcare professional.
Filling nutrient gaps
In burnout we often need replenishment but reach for stimulation. Like I said earlier, gram for gram, liver is considered to be one of the most nutrient dense foods on Earth and can help to combat nutrient deficiencies that often stem from chronic stress. It contains vitamin A, B12, iron, copper, folate, selenium, zinc and protein. Copper is not something we talk about that often, but it is required for iron metabolism and utilization. If we take iron alone without adequate copper, it can create imbalances but beef liver naturally contains both.
a Different approach to wellness
What I appreciate about beef liver supplementation the most is that it shifts the focus back to nourishment and away from stimulation. We listen to the body and give it what it has been missing or robbed of so that it can function in the way it was designed. This won’t replace adequate sleep, nervous system regulation techniques, balanced nutrition, and emotional well-being, but it can be a foundational tool to help support the body when it has been running on low fuel for such a long time.
How to choose high-quality
Not all supplements are created equally and quality definitely matters when you want to use something as a source of nourishment. Here are some things to look for:
Sourcing
You want your beef liver capsules to be grass fed, and grass finished. This is non-negotiable. Cows that are grass fed and grass finished tend to have higher nutrient density, better fatty acid profiles, as well as fewer toxins and inflammatory compounds. When animals are raised in alignment with their natural diet, their organs reflect that in quality. Look for sourcing from regions that are known for stricter agricultural standards, such as New Zealand, Australia, and select regenerative farms in the United States.
PROCESSING
You want the liver to be freeze-dried and not heat processed. The way that the liver is processed will determine how much nutrition actually remains. Freeze drying preserves heat sensitive vitamins, enzymes, and overall nutrient integrity. High heat processing can degrade the very nutrients that you are taking the supplement for. If it doesn’t clearly state that it has been freeze dried, do some more digging.
Extras
A high-quality beef liver capsule should be exactly what it says, and nothing more. No fillers, additives or hidden ingredients. Look for 100% beef liver capsules that are made from gelatin or clean alternatives. You don’t want any binders, anti-caking agents or synthetic additives. The simpler it is, the more aligned it tends to be with the body.
Third-party testing and transparency
In your search, you want to find a brand that is willing to show you what’s inside. Look for third-party testing for purity, as well as contaminants, transparency around sourcing and processing and clear labeling. No vague language or proprietary blends. This is especially important with organ supplements because the quality can widely vary.
Beef liver capsules can be incredibly supportive, but they need to be sourced and processed with integrity. The ones I have been taking for literal years are from Perfect Supplements. Very much high-quality and 3g of beef liver with four capsules.
Final words
Life happens. And when we feel rundown, we shouldn’t be worrying about doing more. We need to replenish what has been lost. There is something deeply feminine about choosing to nourish yourself and considering you as someone worthy of being restored.
Not running on empty and calling it resilience.
We talk so much about stepping into our power as women, but power without nourishment becomes performance.
And we don’t need to perform.
We need to honor the body as the foundation of everything we want to become.
Sustained energy levels, improved resilience to stress and improved skin and hair health as well as overall vitality are all things that are possible with consistent support and nourishment. And beef liver capsules can help us do that in a way that is both simple and biologically aligned.
This content is for informational purposes only and is not intended as medical advice. Beef liver capsules are a concentrated source of nutrients, particularly preformed vitamin A (retinol), which can accumulate in the body when taken in excess. Unlike water-soluble vitamins, fat-soluble vitamins are stored in the liver and can reach toxic levels if over consumed.
Individuals who are pregnant or planning pregnancy should exercise caution, as high levels of retinol have been associated with potential risks during pregnancy. Those with liver conditions or who regularly consume other supplements that may also contain a vitamin A should also consult a healthcare professional before use.
Always follow recommended serving sizes and avoid stacking multiple supplements.
